THE LEGEND OF CANAKKALE DEMONSTRATION CENTER ( KABATEPE SIMULATION CENTER ) Located inside the National Park of Gallipoli Peninsula, The Legend of Canakkale Demonstration Center has been officially opened on June 7, 2012. In the Demonstration Center, which has 11 galleries, the Canakkale War is simulated from beginning to end. In the first of the galleries, in which various effects are used, the entering of the Ottomans into the war is displayed with a video made by 3D cartography methods. In the second gallery the ship called Nusret Mayin’s mine-laying process is simulated. The naval warfare, the bombing of Mecidiye emplacements and the heroism of Seyit Onbasi, land battles, the defining moment of the war, trench warfare, the view of Gallipoli from the sky are demonstrated respectively in the galleries number 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. In the nineth gallery the fact that Canakkale cannot be passed is displayed, and in the tenth gallery memories are presented. Finally in the eleventh gallery Turkey from 1915 to present is displayed. The total land of the Project is 8,600 squaremeter, while the center takes 2,400 squaremeters of this land. The establishment has a two-story conference hall which has the capacity to host 160 people, in addition to an exhibition of the army weapons, personal belongings and letters, which is spreaded on two floors. |
